FIRST-TIME CAMPER GUIDE
Welcome to Camp 207!
Each year, many campers attend for the first time and leave with new friendships, stronger faith, confidence, and unforgettable memories. It’s completely normal for first time campers to feel a little nervous and anxious before camp. Our trained counselors, clear schedules, and welcoming environment help every camper feel at home fast.
Here are a few helpful things to know before your camper arrives:
Parents are welcome to help their campers settle into cabins during check-in.
No phones or electronics are allowed for campers.
Campers who experience homesickness can call home using a counselor’s phone or the camp office.
Parents can send messages to their campers during the week. The message form opens on our messages page after check-in. (Remember your camper’s cabin name!)
Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for photos and video highlights during camp.
Campers are encouraged to join all activities, but they’re also welcome to sit out and watch if they need a break.
All campers attend age-specific Bible sessions led by our awesome Camp Speakers.
Please review the packing list below prior to camp so your camper is ready for every adventure.
Our online merch store will open prior to camp, allowing to pre-order Camp 207 swag for pickup at check-in.
No cash is needed at camp. Everything is included! There may be some limited Camp 207 swag available for purchase by parents at check-in and pickup.
Each cabin has 3–4 trained counselors providing supervision, guidance, and fun.
Three meals per day are provided, along with an afternoon treat and an after-dinner snack.
Cabins are grouped by grade and biological sex to ensure age-appropriate activities and relationships.

Dress Code Policy
At Camp 207, we encourage all participants to bring and wear clothing suitable for a camp environment. The goal is to ensure comfort, safety, and a respectful atmosphere for everyone. All clothing must be modest attire.
General Clothing Guidelines
Clothing should cover all undergarments.
Clothing should not depict alcoholic beverages, illegal substances, drugs, or any content that is vulgar, profane, racist, indecent, political, or sexually suggestive.
Clothing for water sports should consist of swimming trunks for males and one-piece or tankini swimsuits for females.
Remain fully clothed except when wearing swimsuits at the waterfront.
Specific Clothing Guidelines
Shirts should be full-length. If raising your arms causes your shirt to show midriff, it is too short. Shirts must be worn at all times unless engaged in waterfront activities.
Tank tops should have a wide shoulder strap (at least 1½ inches); no dropped armholes. Strapless or halter tops are not allowed.
Clothes should not expose bare midriffs or cleavage.
Shorts or pants should have at least a 4-inch inseam and should not have any holes.
No sagging pants, and no shorts or pants that expose undergarments.
Acceptable swimsuits include swim trunks for males and one-piece or tankini swimsuits for females with definite overlap. Bathing suits that are predominantly white are not allowed. If a bathing suit does not meet these guidelines, a dark-colored t-shirt and possibly shorts should be worn over it.
No mini skirts.
Please bring clothes to the showers; do not leave the showers in just towels. You must be fully clothed when walking to and from the showers.
Camper Expectations
(Code of Conduct)
Campers who attend Camp 207 are expected to adhere to the Code of Conduct outlined below. Disciplinary action for violating camp rules may include parental involvement, loss of privileges and/or immediate dismissal from camp. Any infraction of the Code of Conduct may prevent the camper from returning to camp in the future.
It is expected that campers will:
Respect the rights and property of others including the Camp property and facilities.
Engage in behavior free from both physical and verbal violence or aggression, or bullying. This includes demonstrating courtesy and respect for other campers and staff by refraining from inappropriate or discriminatory language (racist or otherwise).
Provide medical staff with all prescribed medications at the time of arrival to be administered by approved personnel only.
Abide by established curfews. Campers must not be outside of the cabin after curfew.
Attend all activities and adhere to the daily camp schedule unless excused by Director or medical staff.
Stay on site for the entire camp week unless written approval from parents and/or the Director or medical staff has been provided.
Adhere to the Dress Code Policy. (See section above)
It is expected that campers will NOT:
Possess and/or consume or be in the presence of someone possessing or consuming legal drugs, illegal drugs, or alcoholic beverages.
Possess and/or consume or be in the presence of someone possessing or consuming tobacco products of any kind. This includes cigarettes, cigars, pipes, vapes, snuff, chew, or other tobacco-related product.
Possess or use fire, candles, mosquito coils, or fireworks of any kind anywhere.
Possess a knife or any other sharp/dangerous tool or weapon, real or fake.
Possess any electronic device of any kind including cell phones, tablets, and smart-watches.
Tamper with any safety devices including fire alarms, fire extinguishers and/or fire buckets.
Enter any cabin other than their own without permission. At no point will male campers enter female cabins or female campers enter male cabins.
Enter space Camp Vega has not designated appropriate for Camp 207 attendees. This includes (but is not limited to) the kitchen and staff quarters.
Swim Tests
Waterfront activities are available based on swim test results.
In order to ensure the safety of everyone at the waterfront, each camper will be offered an opportunity to complete a swim test during the afternoon of their arrival day. No camper is required to test. If a camper chooses not to complete a swim test, they are considered a yellow swimmer.
Swim tests will look like this:
Enter the water at the shallow end of the swim area.
Swim two lengths (down and back).
Exit the water at the shallow end of the swim area.
If the swimmer has not successfully completed this portion, the testing is complete. They are a yellow swimmer.
Ask the swimmer if they are able to jump in and come back up on their own.
If they say no (or attempt and fail), they move on to the next portion of the test.
If they say yes, they jump in and tread water for 1 minute.
When they finish treading water, they swim to the other side (away from the diving boards).
Jump in the deep end with an appropriately fitted life vest and swim to the near side of the dock (close to the diving board).
Climb out without using the ladder, if possible.
If they did not do the deep swim, but successfully completed the life vest portion, they are a purple swimmer.
If they completed the deep swim AND the life vest portion, they are a green swimmer.
If a swimmer cannot climb out without the ladder but completed the shallow swim (but not the deep swim), they are a purple swimmer.
If a swimmer cannot climb out without the ladder but has completed all other portions of the test, they are a green swimmer.
The results of a camper’s swim test allow them to engage in all kinds of fun waterfront activities. Here is a quick breakdown:
Yellow swimmers can enjoy shallow swimming and kayaks/canoes with a life vest.
Purple swimmers can enjoy shallow swimming, deeper swimming and diving with a life vest, kayaks/canoes with a life vest, and tubing with a life vest.
Green swimmers can enjoy shallow swimming, deeper swimming and diving, kayaks/canoes with a life vest, tubing with a life vest, zip-lining with a life vest, and bounce sliding with a life vest.
Any camper who wishes to retest can do so ONCE. Retesting is offered on the first day of camp prior to the camper’s swim period. Retesting will not be offered any other time during camp.
